Pine Cone Cheese Ball Recipe
Chef John's show-stopping pine cone cheese ball is a welcome addition to any holiday party spread and a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
Delicious! I tried the cheeseball mix and was worried that it would be too bland so I warned everyone. I was wrong. When eaten on a cracker with an almond or two AND a bit of smoked salmon-- it's amazing! I HIGHLY recommend serving with smoked salmon. It is not in my photo as I took the photo prior to placing the crackers & smoked salmon on the plate. This was a hit at the holiday party!
This party cheese ball is savory yet tangy and a different twist on the traditional cheddar-based cheese ball. I made this for a Christmas gathering, and everyone really liked the taste of the cream cheese and goat cheese blend. For the outside, I used raspberry-glazed almonds and also served it alongside pepper-jelly. The savory cheese, fruit-glazed almonds, and sweet-spicy pepper jelly was a great combination to spread on party crackers!
I love Chef John's recipes but this was not for my taste. I did not like the taste of all of the herbs, I felt like the tarragon overpowered everything. Next time I will try it with half the amount of herbs. It made for a beautiful presentation however, very festive!
Great!!! Brought it to a party and everyone was impressed with the presentation and taste!!!
